Trust and safety

Each new member of Short Stay must complete a short set of identity verification steps by phone, email, direct call, and by providing a government ID of their choice. We assist each member to securely in each step.

Just as every guest must verify themselves, each host must also do so in order to create their first listing. Our goal is to nurture a high-trust environment across our platform.

For hosts

Simply navigate to our hosting page, and click the button titled ‘start hosting’.

You’ll be taken through a short set of questions where you are able to add the basics, and then we’ll assist you from there - easy peasy! A few basic expectations are shared in the final listing step, designed to help create the best possible environment for guests, companies, and hosts.

If you already have a hosting account, log in and go to the menu at the top right-hand side of page, click Hosting, then Listings, and then click the button titled ‘add a new listing’.

For guests

Once your host has pre-approved your stay, you’ll receive an email that will guide you directly to your reservation - or simply navigate there using the following steps.

1. Go to vancouvershortstay.com
2. Log in with your email and password
3. Go to the menu at the top right-hand-side of the page
4. Select the menu option Travelling > then Messages
5. Open the corresponding reservation request

To confirm your stay, click the blue button at the top of your reservation page titled ‘Pay and Confirm’. This will take you to our payment page where you may review the full details of your initial reservation total, and make payment.

Afterwards, we will assist to complete your identity verification and payment information. Please note that initial reservation payments always span only the first month, 28-31 nights, of your reservation. Payment is required to confirm, and future payments are processed automatically.
