Kelowna is a city in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada. Nicknamed “Canada’s California”, it is situated on the eastern shore of Okanagan Lake and is known for its wineries, beaches, and outdoor activities.
The driving distance from Kelowna to Vancouver is approximately 390 kilometres (242.36 miles). The recommended route is via the Trans-Canada Highway, also known as Highway 1. Under normal conditions, the drive should take approximately 4 to 5 hours.
Kelowna enjoys hot summers with a mediterranean climate and four distinct seasons. Summers are warm and dry, with average highs exceeding 25°C. Winters are cool and moderately snowy. The city experiences over 300 days of sunshine annually.
Kelowna has several beaches along Okanagan Lake, perfect for swimming, sunbathing, stand-up paddleboarding, and other water activities. The most popular of which are Boyce-Gyro Beach Park, Rotary Beach Park, Hot Sands Beach, and Waterfront Park Kelowna.
Hiking and biking trails are easily accessible across the surrounding mountains, with options for all skill levels. Popular destinations include Myra Canyon Park and the Okanagan Rail Trail. The largest park by area is Knox Mountain Park. Water sports are also a major draw, with opportunities for kayaking, canoeing, and especially boating on Okanagan Lake.
Kelowna offers a variety of family-friendly activities. Splash Okanagan Water Park provides a fun-filled day for all ages. H2O Adventure Centre is the largest municipal water park in Canada and offers everything a family would need to fill an afternoon with memories and also cool off.
Kids will love exploring the Okanagan Science Centre. Families can also visit Kelowna's award-winning wineries (with non-alcoholic options of course!), take a boat tour on the lake, or go fruit picking in the surrounding orchards.

Kelowna's downtown core is becoming increasingly walkable, with many shops, restaurants, and attractions concentrated within a pedestrian-friendly area. The city has a growing network of bike lanes, making it a convenient option for getting around. Renting a bike is a great way to explore the waterfront and nearby parks, however renting a car in Kelowna provides greater flexibility for exploring the surrounding areas, including wineries, beaches, and towns located outside the city centre.
Stay with family
The apartment was exactly as it showed on the web site. Didn't disappoint. Well equipped and beautifully furnished. Nice views. Location was perfect for me. Everything in walking distance. Stayed for 10 weeks and offered all the comforts of home. Look forward to my stay again this summer. Excellent communication, friendly, and professional. Good follow up."

Stay for work
This is a fantastic suite for short or long term stays. The layout of the unit offers it to be very spacious relative to the sq. footage. It's incredibly clean, quick to jump on the highway, EXTREMELY dog friendly with Bridgman park across the street. I moved up to Vancouver for work and rented this unit as a short term solution while finding long term housing. Couldn't have picked a better place and host to work with than this unit and the group at Vancouver Short Stay!”

Booking for Others
Ease of the booking was great and invoicing processes simple. Seamlessness from the perspective of the staff member who is attending a training program – they have enough to worry about! It is helpful that the staff can communicate directly with VSS for their specific needs, but that invoices can come to a different place for payment.”
